* Loreto (at 77km), famous for the Basilica of the Holy House, one of the most important and ancient places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world. The city has developed around the Basilica, that according to tradition contains the remains of the house where
the Virgin Mary was born and received the Annunciation. Tradition says that the House arrived miraculously there,  transported by angels from Nazareth.

    
* St. Gabriel of the Island of Gran Sasso (68 km) is one of the most visited sites in the Catholic tradition. The shrine dedicated to the patron saint of Abruzzo and the young Italian Catholics at the foothills of the Gran Sasso of Italy and it also attracted many pilgrims coming from the enchanting natural setting. After admiring all the votive offerings of the faithful who thanked the saint, it is possible to reach, just 15 minutes, the National Park with its lush forests and waterfalls.
    
* Campli (33 kilometers). The quiet town that was
one of the most important on the border between Teramo and Ascoli Piceno, between the Kingdom of the Bourbons and the Pope centuries ago. So important that the Pope Clement XIV granted him the privilege of the Scala Santa. The scale that run through the faithful on their knees to receive a plenary indulgence. Praying at the Holy Staircase has the same value as the most famous prayer in the Holy Stairs in Rome, the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano.
    
* Finally you can reach in Abruzzo the Prime religious shrine dedicated to John Paul II in Saint Peter, wonderful place that has hosted the Pope several times

* THE FORTRESS of Civitella del Tronto

The Fortress of Civitella del Tronto is one of the most impressive works of military engineering built on the Italian territory, with over 500 meters long and 25,000 square feet of total area, the structure has been a
insurmountable bulwark for enemies at the borders. The Aragonese castle, built on medieval seniority, has been completely transformed between 1564 and 1576 on the orders of Philip II of Habsburg.

    
* THE CASTLE ROCK Calascio

In the National Park of Gran Sasso. The picturesque castle, situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the plains and the valley of Navenby and Tiryns, with its 1,512 meters above sea level, one of the
highest fortresses of Europe. Near the castle is the ancient church of S. Maria della Pieta' (XVI century).. The castle of Rocca Calascio was the natural set of many successful films, including "Lady Hawke", "The Name of the Rose" and "Padre Pio".

    
* THE FORTRESS OF ACQUAVIVA PICENA

The Fortress has a quadrilateral, whose vertices are at the towers. Inside the central courtyard there is a courtyard with a well and a characteristic scale. The Fort also houses a museum of weapons.
